Barcelona, April 12^th 2005 .- The initiative will take place next April 15^th and 16^th in Naples with the purpose to divulge and deepen the knowledge of the works of the architect Antoni Gaudí. The congress " Attualità di Antoni Gaudí: Teoria e prassi di un nuevo linguaggio architettonico" is the continuation of the exhibition “Antoni Gaudí: the search for shape”, which has taken place in the Castel dell'Ovo in Naples from October 16^th 2004 till January 9^th 2005.

The Congress is based on five arguments:

• “The European architecture during the First World War. Repeated historical and history-graphical lecture of the issue Gaudí”
• “Architecture and craftwork. Gaudí's contribution”
• “The structural experimentation in Gaudí”
• “Economy in the construction, economy in the architecture, economy of the humble in Gaudí”
• “A specific yet not totally revealed architectonical language”

The congress will be concluded with a round table about the theme “Towards the language of a new architecture”.

The congress is organized by architect Giulio Pane, head of the Department of History of Architecture and Restoration of the University of Naples “Federico II”. Among the specialists who take part in the congress, we have Joan Bassegoda, Conservator of the Càtedra Gaudí; Jordi Bonet, architect director of the Sagrada Familia works; Maria Antonieta Crippa, History of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan; Antoni González Moreno-Navarro, chief architect of the Service of the Architectonic Local Patrimony of the Delegation of Barcelona; Luis Gueilburt , sculptor and collaborator at the University Polytechnic School of Barcelona.
