The Gaudí & Barcelona Club invited to attend the presentation

Chicago, April 2nd 2004.– Last April the Mexican based CAPIZZI company, specialised in bathroom furniture, presented its new Gaudí Collection at the most important trade fair for Bathrooms and Kitchens in the world, the Kitchen / Bath Industry Show & Conference –K/BIS 2004-, which took place in the McCornick Place of Chicago.

The collection recreates the geometry which characterizes and defines the work of the famous Catalan architect. “Almost 80 years after he died, there is a Gaudí who’s more alive than ever in his artistic, technical and aesthetic influences. It’s to this Gaudí full of life that CAPIZZI wishes to pay homage with its new Gaudí Collection”, explains Mayela González de Garza, Public Relations Manager of the company.

The collection that Capizzi made in order to commemorate the genius of Antoni Gaudí reflects a profound respect for his artistic work and reveals a challenging documentation task and a concise study of the thoughts of the genius architect behind the designs. The curved and winding forms of the bathroom pieces take us to the personal and unique style Gaudí carried out.

“Passionate about ceramics, Gaudí made use of it as an aesthetic element in most of his buildings and once more, it’s exactly through the use of ceramics that Capizzi pioneers in creating a Gaudí bath line”. This is the personal opinion of Eduard Solé, President of the Gaudí Club of Barcelona, who went to Chicago personally to encourage the presentation of this collection.

The Gaudí Collection focuses on satisfying the preferences of the Residential Market which recognizes the aesthetic value of the artistic movements at the end of century XIX and the beginning of century XX. The Gaudí, Batlló and Milá combinations of toilet and pedestal washbasin will be available as from this summer.
