In the setting of two Romanesque churches of Barcelona,
Sant Pau del Camp and Sant Pere de les Puel·les, the musician
will play every Thursdays, from July to September the works of Sors,
Father A. Soler and Albéniz. The prestigious guitar players Carles
Trepat and Fernando Rodríguez, and also the Guitar Quartet Camera
XXI, will take part in this cycle of concerts, making the present edition
of "The Guitar and the Romanesque Art" to surpass the previous
ones because of the variety of ensembles and performers which will be
able to be heard, which programs include works from the XVI to XX centuries.
The work of Antoni Gaudí is one synthesis of
very diverse influences. The catholic religiosity , the mediaeval architecture,
the Islamic art and the forms of nature are some of the ingredientes
which form the architect's personal style. This cycle evokes by means
of music some representative spaces of these influences.
