Pere Cánovas

Master Glassmaker

 

 

Born in Sant Adrià de Besòs in 1930. He studied in la Llotja de Mar (a reputed artistic academy in Barcelona). He devoted himself first to church wall painting. In 1953 he changed to the world of stained glass, and he has not ceased to do his work throughout the world. His most gaudinian work can be seen in the Colonia Güell and in the Mallorca cathedral, apart from infinity of works in the cathedral of Barcelona, Santa Maria del Mar, Tibidabo, the Belén church in Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Florida, Honduras, Santo Domingo, USA, Paris, Bremen, Japan, etc.

He has built and installed more than 5.000 square metres of stained glass. He is a projectist, painter, creator, sketcher, sculptor and glass artist, lecturer and master of glassmakers.


   Simfonía Gaudiniana

STAINED GLASS
An allegory where the artist, a lover of the Gaudí’s work, gives his particular vision of the gaudinian work, making a mosaic symphony, where, in a coloured, the most emblematic works of the architect are reflected.
